BUDGET 2021: MT Lab thanks Quebec Tourism Minister for historic contribution – $10 million over 5 years for MT Lab

MT Lab thanks the Quebec government, and more specifically the Minister of Tourism, Caroline Proulx, for including in the 2021-2022 Quebec budget a major and historic contribution of $10 million to MT Lab over the next five years. Among other things, this sum will enable the creation of the first innovation fund dedicated solely to the tourism industry.

As the first startup incubator dedicated to tourism, culture and entertainment in North America, the MT Lab is also a meeting place for startups and the Quebec tourism community. Over the past few years, it has been able to count on a dozen major partners from the tourism, cultural and entertainment sectors to support its efforts and expand its reach.

The funds allocated to this new innovation fund will help support and accelerate the implementation of structuring and innovative projects designed to enhance the quality of the offering of Quebec’s tourism businesses. This will enable MT Lab to consolidate its status as a leader in innovation in the tourism industry.

“This announcement marks a major milestone in the young history of tourism innovation in Quebec. It is also an exceptional recognition of the MT Lab and the actions it has undertaken over the past few years. I would therefore like to thank the Minister of Tourism, Caroline Proulx, for this major support for the future of tourism innovation in Quebec. I would also like to acknowledge the work of the entire MT Lab team, as well as the members of the Board of Directors, for their sustained efforts. This contribution from the Quebec government will make a lasting difference to MT Lab’s work and influence, by providing us with the means to realize our ambitions for five (5) years, for the benefit of all tourism businesses”, said MT Lab Chairman Pierre Bellerose.
