Unveiling of the 5th cohort of the Incubation Program

In everyone’s mind, the start of the new school year marks the beginning of a new era. Green leaves give way to warm hues, and a wind of change is felt. The MT Lab is no exception, as the call for applications to discover the latest innovative solutions in the ecosystem draws to a close.

Following a period of deliberation by our 12 major partners, MT Lab is proud to announce the launch of the 5th cohort of the Incubation Program as the program gets a makeover!

During the pandemic, the MT Lab team went back to the drawing board to analyze how updating the Incubation Program could benefit ecosystem entrepreneurs looking to break into the industry by confirming their first customers, right in the middle of the economic recovery.

The Incubation Program is a 12-month hybrid program designed to help entrepreneurs accelerate their business development in tourism, culture and entertainment.

With the digitization of our exchanges and support capabilities, the new Incubation Program, comprising 10 companies with a high potential impact on the industry, will be offered in both face-to-face and virtual formats to optimize the achievement of innovative companies’ objectives.

Fatoumata Fofana, President ofHéralysa consulting firm that develops tools to improve the integration of immigrants into the job market.

Zack Elorfi, President ofHilo Smart Mirrorwhich designs and manufactures smart mirrors and develops the software that acts as the heart and brain of their smart mirrors.

Myriam Corbeil, co-founder and president of theUNIQ HotelUNIQ Hotel, which develops Quebec-based Nomadic and Unusual Units that travel the province in search of exclusive locations in regions where there’s a shortage of accommodation.

Nicolas Labrie, principal architect, founder and president of LabNcowhich offers experience design services integrating cognitive science, technology & storytelling for superior impact to maximize feedback, consensus and success.

Laurent Mailloux, co-founder of LifeLinewhich offers a networked service of portable chargers enabling establishments to attract more customers and learn more about their behavior thanks to the data collected.

David Tall, President of LocapaqLocapaq is a non-profit organization that facilitates access to the outdoors by renting out a wide range of quality equipment, organizing guided activities and setting up interpretation booths at public events across Quebec.

Carl Otis, co-CEO ofOtis Naturewhich develops and manufactures Canada’s first universal-access ready-to-camp (RTC).

Georges Kattar, co-founder and COO of RadishRadish’s mission is to serve the needs of the businesses and individuals that make up the local restaurant industry. At the same time, Radish provides the technological tools and support necessary to enable restaurants to modernize their operations while preserving their link with their customers.

Paul Roberge, President and CEO of Ramblea platform enabling locals and tourists to book experiences created by individuals and companies with unique expertise.

France Gosselin, treasurer and working member of Retournzy coop de solidaritéRetournzy is an innovative, turnkey distribution (rental), collection and washing/sanitizing solution for food services in Montreal, to help reduce waste at source in the take-out sector.

A few words about incubation at MT Lab

These companies will have the opportunity to take part in 12 workshops that will enable them to hone their knowledge and skills in business development, value proposition adaptation, setting up innovative projects, project financing, and more.

Companies can also count on MT Lab experts for an in-depth understanding of the tourism, culture and entertainment industry, not to mention a complete mapping of key players, different governance models and the place of innovation in the industry.

Following the 12 workshops, the incubates of Cohort 5 will benefit from 9 months of personalized coaching with the MT Lab’s entrepreneur-in-residence, pitch opportunities with potential customers and enriching meetings with MT Lab alumni companies, to best foster their commercial fit with the target market.
