Ephemeral accommodation in nature – Hôtel UNIQ

The idea behindHôtel UNIQ was to create an ephemeral village of fully-equipped, eco-friendly accommodation units. The company offers five-star service in unusual locations, with comfortable luxury tents and a shared kitchen.

Before the pandemic, the start-up set up its ephemeral villages near events and festivals, in places where accommodation was in short supply. Now, Hotel UNIQ has turned its attention to nature and the regions. The UNIQ ephemeral village moves with the destinations. UNIQ Hotel adapts to any location.

Hôtel UNIQ has already set up its ephemeral village in Chaudière-Appalaches, Gaspésie, the Laurentians, Jardins de Métis, Baie de Beauport, Lac Taureau and Lac Saint-Jean.

The UNIQ Hotel is part of the fifth cohort. It has benefited from expert advice and support in drafting documentation.

“MT Lab’s advice was invaluable,” says Myriam Corbeil, co-founder Hotel UNIQ, “in drawing up grant applications, completing presentation files and preparing a pitch.”

The start-up won the $100K Excellence grant from the Tourism Innovation Program managed by MT Lab.
