MT Lab presents its new Board of Directors

Montreal (Qc), October 31, 2022 – The MT Lab announces changes to its Board of Directors, with the addition of new talent to further its mission of fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in tourism, culture and entertainment.

Pierre Bellerose has completed his 5-year term as Chairman of the MT Lab Board of Directors. Among other things, former Vice President Innovation at Tourisme Montréal, Chairman of the Boards of Hub Montréal and M pour Montréal, Pierre Bellerose has dedicated his unwavering commitment to MT Lab, from its creation to its current growth. In 2017, he built this ambitious project, at the time, supported by co-founding partners ESG UQAM, Tourisme Montréal, and with the close collaboration of Paul Arseneault and Guy-Joffroy Lord, still committed board members.

“I have decided to pass on the torch of Chairman of the Board after more than 5 years of adventure and success with my dear colleagues on the Board of Directors and the MT Lab team. I’m delighted that new energies will influence the growth and dynamism of MT Lab, which today has become a key player in tourism innovation.” Pierre Bellerose, co-founder and former Chairman of the MT Lab Board of Directors

MT Lab is delighted to welcome Carl Frédéric De Celles as the new Chairman of its Board of Directors. An economist by training, Carl Frédéric De Celles has been working in the digital and innovation fields for over 28 years. In addition to his day-to-day entrepreneurial activities with iXmédia, Kabane and Septembre Éditeur, he also chairs the boards of Québec Numérique, Théâtre du Trident and now MT Lab. His professional involvement has long put him at the heart of innovation challenges in the tourism, cultural and events industries. At Québec Numérique, he oversaw the creation of 42 Québec, the first Canadian subsidiary of the famous Parisian “non-école”. Involved with MT Lab as a director since its founding, he has contributed to its set-up and strategic development since 2019.

“I thank Pierre Bellerose for his dedication and willingness to share his vision of innovative tourism with all of us. There are many great innovative projects to come, and I’m delighted that MT Lab will continue to make Quebec a more successful destination for tourism, culture and entertainment.” Carl Frédéric De Celles, new Chairman of the MT Lab Board of Directors

Valérie Bourgeois now holds the position of Vice President, having previously served as an MT Lab Board Director since 2017. Deputy Executive Director of Culture Trois-Rivières (first Director of the Boréalis Museum), Valérie Bourgeois will bring her expertise in governance developed over many years in the cultural field. She takes over from Paul Arseneault, who remains an active member of the MT Lab Board of Directors. He is one of the founding members of MT Lab, and has worked with passion from its inception to its current success.

“It’s a tremendous honor to take over from Paul Arsenault as Vice President of MT Lab. The projects ahead are extremely stimulating! We are surrounded by a wealth of expertise, which will enable the organization to assume its role as a leader in the innovation ecosystem.” Valérie Bourgeois, Vice-President of the MT Lab Board of Directors

“The MT Lab Board is extraordinarily fortunate to be able to count on Valérie’s wealth of expertise, as she is one of our earliest directors. She has demonstrated her talents and rigor as Chair of the Governance and Ethics Committee, and I offer her my warmest cooperation in her new structuring mandate.

On a more personal note, it is with emotion that I salute and thank my friend Pierre Bellerose, who was an accomplice in this crazy adventure of creating from scratch a specialized incubator, which has today become a jewel in the crown of the tourism industry in Quebec, Canada and the Francophonie!”Paul Arseneault, Co-founder and former Vice-Chairman of the MT Lab Board of Directors

Eric Albert, President and CEO of Centre Phi, and already a director on the MT Lab Board of Directors succeeds Maude Lavoie as Treasurer. Maude Lavoie, a partner at financial consulting firm Richter, had held MT Lab’s strategic finance position since 2017. Stéphanie Normandin is continuing her mandate as Secretary since the creation of MT Lab.
