Discover the 11 startups in our 6th Incubation cohort

Montreal, October 13, 2022 – The tip of the future, North America’s 1st electric rental van, employee wellness, resurrecting churches… The thirteen major partners of the MT Lab, industry leaders, have selected the eleven (11) promising startups of the 6th cohort of the MT Lab Incubation Program, in the fields of tourism, culture and entertainment. The 11 startups, from different sectors but with complementary expertise, propose innovative solutions in a context where the industry is pursuing its mission to remain competitive while promoting a shift towards eco-responsible tourism, and the emergence of tools to deal with the shortage of manpower.

Introducing the 11 startups in the new cohort:

Autel-relais. Resurrecting Quebec’s churches. The idea of enjoying a soft cream and sleeping in a mythical place full of history is an extraordinary experience. Although churches have fallen out of favor as places of worship, they are still impressive buildings, and gathering places par excellence. After the operation of the Saint-Crème Bar laitier, now a tourist attraction in Alma, the next project will be a hotel in Lac Saint-Jean.

My canteen. The connected fridge in the city. My Cantine offers high-quality, unmanned catering solutions for businesses and other high-traffic locations, via its self-contained restaurant, a connected fridge equipped with RFID technology. My Cantine is a technology company that develops and markets innovative ways of eating fresh, healthy meals.

Bromont Campervan. North America’s 1st electric rental van. The converted vehicle rental company that aims to become the first company with an electric rental fleet in the world.

Tempin . A technological platform for sharing human resources between employers. Tempin is a solution to the labour shortage. It enables seasonal employers in the tourism industry (hotels, restaurants, events, etc.) to find available employees for short and medium-term assignments in a defined region. Employers have access to a video presentation of candidates, their availability schedules, as well as job references and comments from previous employers.

Grey-Box. Access to information for everyone, everywhere. Grey-Box is a social innovation startup. Its aim is to provide wireless access to digital resources in remote areas where internet access is unreliable, so that individuals and organizations can access vital resources offline: from customized resources to hold an offline copy of the corporate intranet, a Moodle for training employees in the field or whatever.

Kübbii. The 1st sustainable promotional display solution. Using modules made from recycled cardboard, Kübbii creates promotional products. Circular economy principles are applied at every stage of the product life cycle to ensure the smallest possible GHG footprint. Kübbii favors short supply chains and offers customized, made-to-measure layouts for both purchase and rental.

Teknotip. The tip of the future. As cash tips have dropped drastically in recent years, it became necessary to have a service better adapted to today’s payment methods, whether by credit card or cell phone.

Panier Québécois. An online farmers’ market specializing in carbon-free sales and delivery of fresh, local produce in Montreal. The company works with Montreal’s main public markets: Jean-Talon, Atwater, Maisonneuve and offers a shared service for over 150 local merchants in the city.

Atracktiv. Creating interactive experiences between artists and the general public. Visitors are invited to bring playful, interactive experiences to life. This creative studio specializing in new technologies and content “gamification” (musical, narrative or visual tracks) is an original transmission belt between artists, brands and the public: immersive installations, connected objects and sensors, augmented reality, LED mapping…

Maple. Human, caring support for new workers and their employers. ERABLEE services aim to become the face and voice of Quebec employers who want to enhance their employer brand, attract qualified talent and improve their talent retention strategy by offering a unique onboarding experience to their new foreign workers.
