Tourisme Lanaudière is looking for a sustainable mobility solution.
Have you been an innovative Quebec company for more than a year? You have from August 10 to August 24, 2023 to submit your solution.

Here is the problem and the need:
  • Tourisme Lanaudière is currently looking for a collective solution to reduce single-occupant car travel, in particular by adding a carpooling solution for visitors wishing to travel to enjoy an outdoor activity in Lanaudière's mountain areas. The solution should enhance the visitor experience and provide access to alternative transportation solutions (existing tourist shuttle services).
  • The selected company will be required to implement and operate a two-month pilot project during the 2023-2024 winter season. The pilot project will be deployed in the busiest attractions during this period.
  • It will also measure the results and impact of the pilot project, and produce a final report. The report will be based on indicators identified by the stakeholders at the start of the pilot project.

Major milestones

  1. The candidate may enter into partnerships with other companies offering complementary services to enhance the solution presented. However, he/she must be the sole representative of the solution to MT Lab and Tourisme Lanaudière. The roles and responsibilities of each partner in the project must be defined at the time of application.
  2. The company will be able to act as an intermediary for the sale of existing related sustainable mobility services (tourist shuttles, public transport, etc.).
  3. The company will need to demonstrate its marketing capabilities and how the solution will meet customer experience criteria (see Applicant’s Guide).
  4. The company must demonstrate how it will ensure user safety.
  5. From financial incentives will be offered by the region’s attractions to visitors who make sustainable travel choices. In the form of discounts at ticket offices, these incentives will be provided at the development stage, to encourage sustainable behavior.
  6. You’ll need to propose a business model with a realistic and sustainable cost strategy for the tourism sector.
  7. The pilot project will be free of charge for destination managers. The pilot project will take place during the winter period, with priority given to the region’s busiest sites.
  8. You will need to be able to travel around the Lanaudière region to meet with local players during the development and deployment period. Work space will be provided at Tourisme Lanaudière offices.
  9. The solution must enable the destination manager toaccess a dashboard to view usage data. The indicators to be included in the dashboard will be discussed between the winner and Tourisme Lanaudière during the development of the solution.

What to exclude

  • Any project requiring the construction of infrastructure
  • Any project limited exclusively to a private bus service
  • Any project requiring the agreement of a public body other than the stakeholders already involved in this call for proposals.
  • Any project whose sustainability can only be envisaged within the single territory of the Lanaudière region.

Before submitting your application, please ensure that you meet the following criteria:

  • Be in business for more than a year
  • Be registered with the Registraire des entreprises du QuĂ©bec
  • Not be in conflict of interest with any MT Lab employee or Board member.
  • Have fewer than 50 employees
