What is the footprint program?

The Empreinte program enables you to test the suitability of your solution for the needs of the tourism, culture and entertainment industry, and to solidify your offering. The program also aims to accelerate the industry’s sustainable transition by offering opportunities to network with you.

This program is aimed at new companies and startups in the prototyping and pre-commercialization phase for the next stages of growth in the tourism, culture and entertainment industry.

The program includes

  • Ten group workshops on business strategy (responsible business model, financing, marketing, sustainable tourism, impact measurement, etc.):

  • Diagnosis, support and follow-up
    (individual and group);

  • Individual coaching with our experts, as required;

  • Access to Quebec City coworking;

  • Participation in meetings and events with MT Lab
    and the ecosystem (pitch practice, VIP visits, lunch & learn,
    demo day, etc.);

  • Connecting and networking with other MT Lab program cohorts.

Program objectives

Prepare entrepreneurs in the prototyping and pre-commercialization phase for the
next stages of their company’s growth in the tourism, culture and
entertainment industries.

Privileged access to industry experts and companies through mentoring and personalized coaching.

Integrate best practices in collaboration between small and large companies.

Access the latest opportunities and business meetings to help your sustainable tourism business grow.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Be in the validation or pre-marketing phase;
  • A sustainable and responsible business model (social, environmental, economic);
  • Meeting the needs of industry (B2B);
  • Be legally incorporated under federal or Quebec law and registered with the Quebec Enterprise Registrar;
  • Be a private, social or collective organization;
  • Have at least one team member working in Quebec for the duration of the program;
  • Not be 50% or more owned by other existing companies or organizations;
  • Own the rights to use the intellectual property of its product or service.
You don't have to be part of the tourism, culture and entertainment sector to innovate!

Selection criteria

5 to 6 companies will be selected

Solutions that best address current sustainability priorities and considerations in the tourism, culture and entertainment industry will be selected.

  • Residual materials management;
  • Water and energy management;
  • Responsible sourcing;
  • Responsible eating;
  • Preserving biodiversity;
  • Circular economy;
  • Adapting to climate change;
  • GHG calculations, diagnostics and transition management tools;
  • Mobility (active, electric and public transport, management of tourist flows, etc.);
  • Visitor practices and behavior;
  • Citizen and community relations;
  • User-friendly, collaborative tools and training for tourism businesses.

Candidates will be selected by a panel of experts in entrepreneurship and sustainable development
