Fifteen startups were selected by the ten leaders of the tourism, culture and entertainment industry to be part of the 3rd cohort of the MT Lab
Montreal, May 2nd 2019 – The ten major partners of the MT Lab are proud to announce the selection of fifteen startups that will be part of the 3rd cohort of the incubator promoting innovations in tourism, culture and entertainment.
From the month of May 2019, the third cohort will join the MT Lab to start a one year accompaniment program. This year, 15 startups will benefit from this assistance offered by 10 major partners. It’s a considerable progression for the incubator that assisted 8 startups in 2017 and 10 startups in 2018.
« The MT Lab accelerates the meetings and synergy between the startup ecosystem and the leaders of the tourism, culture and entertainment industry. This network meshing gives the opportunity to constantly renew the offer presented by destinations all around the province and promote them in the same time upon tourists that are looking for an immersive and innovating experience. », mentioned Pierre Bellerose, President of the board of directors of the MT Lab and Vice-president Innovations, RP, research and product development at Tourisme Montréal.
The MT Lab is in constant expansion since its creation in 2017. His success is due to the the tight collaboration between the major partners and the ambassador role embodied by the previous cohorts. This collaborative work gave the opportunity to the MT Lab to reach out 128 candidates this year alone. The incubator received 78 candidates during his first year and 93 during his second year of activity.
