The customer

Located in a former cartridge factory, Distillerie Arsenal produces bold concoctions of spirits that showcase local heritage in a unique agri-tourism experience. Its museum allows visitors to tour and learn more about the historical elements that make the place so special. In addition, the distillery has a restaurant where events, tastings, shows and parties are organized to offer a total experience highlighting Quebec terroir ingredients, much to the delight of visitors. The rooftop terrace offers a view of Quebec City and its attractions, making it a popular destination for tourists.

Project summary

Thanks to the funding, a number of improvements have been made, including the creation of a rooftop garden to grow local ingredients for the production of new spirits. These recipes will then be available for tasting during visits to the museum, which will be enhanced in terms of its fun and educational aspects. The boutique annexed to the museum will be fitted out to offer products from local artisans, with a view to promoting agri-tourism attractions. This ecosystem will also benefit from a complete digital turnaround to facilitate online booking and promote the heritage of the former cartridge factory and its rich history.

The challenge

It’s important for museums and permanent attractions to renew themselves to attract new audiences. Innovative ideas from companies such as Stimulation Déjà-Vu are making such stations a reality.

Today, to stand out from the crowd, you need to employ innovative ideas and use technology to enhance the customer experience.

The solution

This unique exhibition offers the opportunity to immerse oneself in the marine world in a different way, and shows a new perspective on the exploration of aquatic environments.

The EAU’DORAT exhibition contains :

  • a varied olfactory station with information;
  • the opportunity to immerse yourself sensorially in the life of a polar bear and a shark, to become aware of their way of life;
  • marketing this exhibition to attract new visitors.

The service provider

The various improvements require the collaboration of a number of local and foreign players who contribute to the success of this diversification and expansion of agri-tourism services.

This initiative is creating a huge workforce stimulus to manage the new features that will bring greater tourist traffic to the area.

Results and findings

The exhibition was much appreciated by visitors and generated a great deal of enthusiasm. Good media coverage also helped to highlight the efforts and create excitement.

If we had to do it all over again, the materials would be chosen more for their durability, since we had to change several parts.
