+ l'agence Lacosta

The customer

The preservation of the Marais de la Rivière-aux-Cerises is a cooperative citizens’ initiative. The Association du Marais-de-la-Rivière-aux-Cerises (LAMRAC) is committed to protecting and enhancing the environment and its local flora and fauna. Its mission is to promote the Marais through education, environmental awareness and the active involvement of people in the conservation of this wetland rich in biodiversity. The site receives over 500,000 visits a year, including 250,000 individual visitors.

Project summary

With financial assistance from the MRC Memphrémagog, the Marais de la Rivière-aux-Cerises is working with the Lacosta agency to design its new online platform for selling new promotional items. These items benefit from the collaboration of a local illustrator and biologist to feature a local animal or plant species each month.

Educational leaflets will be supplied with the products to promote the species represented. The items are attractive and promote attachment to and discovery of the region’s little-known biodiversity. Items sold will be used to finance efforts to preserve and raise awareness of the Marais species.

The challenge

It’s important for museums and permanent attractions to renew themselves to attract new audiences. Innovative ideas from companies such as Stimulation Déjà-Vu are making such stations a reality.

Today, to stand out from the crowd, you need to employ innovative ideas and use technology to enhance the customer experience.

The solution

This unique exhibition offers the opportunity to immerse oneself in the marine world in a different way, and shows a new perspective on the exploration of aquatic environments.

The EAU’DORAT exhibition contains :

  • a varied olfactory station with information;
  • the opportunity to immerse yourself sensorially in the life of a polar bear and a shark, to become aware of their way of life;
  • marketing this exhibition to attract new visitors.

The service provider

Lacosta is a communications and integrated marketing agency that worked with the Marais de la Rivière-aux-Cerises to design their website and corporate identity.

For this project, the agency put forward an emotive approach that complements the local people’s sense of belonging to this living natural environment. The online store will help to reach a wider audience and collect more donations to keep the organization going.

Results and findings

The exhibition was much appreciated by visitors and generated a great deal of enthusiasm. Good media coverage also helped to highlight the efforts and create excitement.

If we had to do it all over again, the materials would be chosen more for their durability, since we had to change several parts.
