Montreal, April 3, 2023 — The first incubator-accelerator for tourism, culture and entertainment innovations in North America, the MT Lab is proud to announce that it has received $1.25 million in funding over three years from the Ministère de l'Économie, de l'Innovation et de l'Énergie (MEIE).
The MT Lab stood out in the MEIE's Call for Proposals Support for Organizations Offering Incubation and Acceleration Services , in particular for its success and recognized performance with innovative startups, its positioning and collaboration with other players in the ecosystem, as well as its social impact and commitment to sustainable development.
"Incubator-accelerators contribute to the development of a dynamic entrepreneurial environment and ensure its sustainability. Québec's ecosystem of companies with high growth potential benefits greatly from the support of the MT Lab," said Pierre Fitzgibbon, Minister of Economy, Innovation and Energy, Minister responsible for Regional Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Metropolis and the Montréal region.
"As the only incubator-accelerator dedicated to innovation in tourism, the MT Lab is a key partner with whom we will continue to work to grow the sector. I am very pleased with this additional government support, which will contribute to the development of a modern tourism offer that meets the needs of visitors," said Caroline Proulx, Minister of Tourism and Minister responsible for the Lanaudière region.
