The MT Lab was founded by the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) and its School of Management (ESG UQAM) and thanks to the support of Tourisme Montréal, the project was able to see the light of day. The financial participation of the City of Montréal and the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Land Occupancy made it possible to develop the premises in the heart of the Quartier des spectacles.
The Major Partners Committee is made up of industry leaders who identify priority themes and will support companies that have decided to validate their business model, win their first customer or new customers in the field of tourism, culture and entertainment.
All our Major Partners have been involved both financially and humanly in the activities of the MT Lab since its opening in 2017. They are present throughout the year, whether for support in the incubation program, networking activities, to offer their advice or to obtain access to opportunities.
Each year, our Major Partners identify the priority innovation themes and select the startups incubated in the program. The founding members are the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) and its School of Management (ESG UQAM), Tourisme Montréal, and the Transat Chair in Tourism.
The MT Lab is also an innovation hub where its major partners can:
Leading the major innovation directions in the industry
Privileged contact with startups
Access to Innovators' Resources, Trends, and Culture
The MT Lab thanks the City of Montreal for its financial support to make Montreal a hub for innovation in the tourism, culture and entertainment industry. This support will allow the MT Lab to consolidate its status as a leader in the tourism industry in innovation in Montreal.
The MT Lab's activities are made possible thanks to the financial support of Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions. This support aims to make Québec more attractive, competitive and, thus, more competitive in the international tourism market. This support will allow the MT Lab to act as an intermediary, a support in the growth and acceleration of Quebec tourism businesses.
