Are you a well-established tourism business curious to integrate an innovative solution into your operations? Good news: this program is designed for you!
The MT Lab invites you to become a first-time adopter and collaborate with an innovative start-up company to test an emerging technology directly in your environment. Thanks to the financial support of the Ministère de l'Économie, de l'Innovation et de l'Énergie (MEIE), you could obtain up to $75,000 to test innovation and transform the way you do business.
What is a First-Time Adopter project?
It is a collaboration between:

- You, a tourism company open to testing a technology in Tourism, Experience (Entertainment), Culture and Hospitality (T.E.C.H)
-
- A startup incubated at the MT Lab, which is developing an innovative technological solution.
Together, you develop an experimental project in real conditions in one of the tourism sectors (hotel, attraction, event, territory, etc.) to test the solution, give your feedback to contribute to its improvement and, if you wish, integrate this solution into your long-term activities.

The MT Lab provides you with an inventory of startups ready to collaborate with you and incubated at the MT Lab.

Eligibility requirements

- Be a Quebec tourism business, or an organization active in the industry

- Be ready to collaborate with a startup incubated at the MT Lab

- Be able to contribute up to 20% of the project cost

- Agree to offer a real field of experimentation (physical or digital)

- Crown corporations are eligible

- Votre entreprise est admissible au primo-adoptant, même si elle a été lauréate du Programme de financement de projet du MTO en 2024-2025*
*Any company that wins the Project Funding Program cannot benefit from the program for two consecutive years.
Funding available
Total funding is up to $75,000 for each project.
Répartition du financement* :
60% – MEIE (via the startup)
20% – The startup
20% – The first-time adopter (you!)
* For projects with public organizations, funding ratios are 55% MEIE, 25% startup, and 20% organizations
